Talented Artist Luiz Supports Step Up Park Project with Beautiful Mural (VIDEO)

This video is an interview of painter Luiz. Native Honduran man, Luiz, who lives about five hours away from El Corpus, Honduras, is quite the artist. He lives in a small town named El Paraiso. This interview shows the artistic mural he imagined and painted, with a variety of complex color combinations and scene selections. His creativity with colors, perspective, and beloved children’s characters is quite impressive. He talks about how he makes his own brushes from cat hair, dog hair, and even human hair.

Luiz’s work has been a terrific addition to the playground we donated, making the area come together as a whole for the community who lives, works, and tours there.

Honduras is a beautiful country yet severely lacks resources so Luiz creates tools from his creative imagination and whatever resources he can find and afford. He has invested nearly two weeks of time painting the playground area making it clean, playful, child-like, and welcoming. His work has been a terrific addition to the playground we donated, making the area come together as a whole for the community who lives, works, and tours there. In addition to painting, Luiz is also a very talented musician, singer and a true supporter of our cause. With your help, we can continue this great journey of providing the gift of play to the children of Honduras and eventually the entire world. Let’s build more playgrounds together.

Meet Lydia

While visiting a remote city in Honduras, we came across a child named Lydia who could not play with the other children because of her debilitating disease, which keeps her from being able to walk, use her hands, or talk. She has lacked the resources to obtain any medical care, which has sparked this campaign. We have set up an appointment for her to visit a specialist in Honduras and she will be in need of donations to cover her medical expenses. We wanted to help Lydia and give her a chance to enjoy her childhood.

Update 7/4

Thank you for the support! Lydia will be admitted to the hospital on June 20th. Please continue to support her!

Update: 8/4

Lydia is now on her second treatment at Loma De Luz. The treatments seem to be working and she is doing much better. She is now able to open and close her hands which has lifted her spirits tremendously. Here is a picture of; her, her father and grandmother; at the ocean for only the second time in her life. We wish her the best of luck on her continuing treatments and will keep everyone updated on her health.
